PERSONAL PLAY:

MLB:

New York Yankees @ Houston Astros 8:10pm EST

The Astros have a clear edge heading into tonight’s game, both statistically and in the pitching matchup. Houston has gone 12–6 in their last 18 games, averaging 5.4 runs per contest, while the Yankees have slumped to just 4.1 runs per game over the same span. On the mound, the Astros’ starter has been sharp, with a 2.97 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in his last five starts, compared to Yankees starter Max Fried, who carries a 4.89 ERA and .262 opponent batting average over his recent outings. The last time these two clubs faced off, Houston’s lineup lit up Fried early, tagging him for multiple extra-base hits and chasing him before the fifth inning, showing they’ve already figured out his arsenal. Offensively, Houston continues to rank in the top five in OPS (.770) since August, led by Yordan Álvarez’s .600+ slugging percentage in his last 20 games, while the Yankees have hit just .229 as a team in that span. With the Astros also owning a +24 run differential in the last three weeks compared to the Yankees’ -7, their superior hitting, bullpen reliability, and proven success against Fried all point toward another Houston victory tonight.
