Florida State @ Virginia 7:00pm EST

Virginia has a strong chance to cover the spread because quarterback Chandler Morris has been one of the most efficient passers in the ACC so far, pushing tempo and putting pressure on opposing defenses. Their offense is averaging well over 500 yards per game, and with Trell Harris emerging as a reliable downfield option, they have the ability to keep pace with Florida State’s explosive unit. FSU’s defense is talented, but it hasn’t yet faced a team that combines pace with balance the way Virginia does, which forces them into more possessions and higher-variance outcomes. Playing at home in Charlottesville with a night-game atmosphere also gives the Cavaliers a situational edge, especially against a Seminoles squad taking its first true ACC road test. Even if FSU’s playmakers hit their big plays, Virginia’s tempo and efficiency mean they’re rarely out of striking distance. Because of that, most simulations show UVA hanging within a score, making the +6.5 line a favorable position for the Cavaliers.
