The Cardinals are well-positioned to win and cover 7 points because Kyler Murray gives them a significant stability and efficiency edge over Bryce Young, who has struggled under pressure. Arizona’s defense is much improved with additions like Josh Sweat and Dalvin Tomlinson, and that front is primed to exploit Carolina’s questionable offensive line, especially if Ickey Ekwonu is limited. The Panthers were gashed for over 140 rushing yards last week, and James Conner along with rookie Trey Benson should find consistent success on the ground. Arizona also benefits from coaching continuity with Jonathan Gannon and Drew Petzing, while Carolina is still adapting to Dave Canales’ new system. Playing at home in their opener provides an extra spark for the Cardinals, who are looking to avenge last year’s overtime loss to Carolina. Taken together, Arizona’s upgraded defense, balanced offense, and home-field advantage make them likely to win comfortably by more than a touchdown. I am still going to take opening line at -5.
