Personal Play: October 3rd

Bad Loss last night. Let’s get Back tonight!!

PERSONAL PLAY:

CFB:

New Mexico @ San Jose State 10:00pm EST

New Mexico has a strong chance to cover the +3 spread tonight because their offense has been much more efficient than San José State’s, averaging over 30 points per game behind quarterback Jack Layne’s steady play. San José State is dealing with key issues, including the season-ending injury to leading rusher Jabari Bates and a shaky kicking situation after multiple misses last week, which lowers their scoring reliability in a close game. UNM’s defense has quietly improved under new coordinator Spence Nowinsky, ranking much higher in advanced efficiency metrics compared to the Spartans’ unit that’s giving up over 420 yards per game. While SJSU quarterback Walker Eget can rack up yards, his inconsistent completion percentage and turnover risk play into UNM’s opportunistic secondary. Coaching also tilts slightly toward the Lobos with Jason Eck’s balanced approach compared to SJSU’s reliance on a one-dimensional air attack. With better balance, defensive stability, and fewer key losses, UNM is well-positioned to keep this within a field goal and likely win outright.

1/2 Unit Play: New Mexico +3

LEAN:

CFB:

Western Kentucky @ Delaware 7:00pm EST

WKU has a proven ability to push pace and create explosive plays, and that tempo is a major challenge for a Delaware defense already allowing over 26 points per game. Quarterback Maverick McIvor has been efficient distributing to new transfer weapons like Matthew Henry, giving the Hilltoppers a more balanced attack than last season. On the other side, Delaware’s offense is steady but less explosive, and WKU’s red-zone defense has shown the ability to force field goals instead of touchdowns. With their tempo advantage, improved roster depth through transfers, and stronger track record against FBS competition, WKU is well-positioned to cover the spread.

1/2 Unit Play: WKU +3
