The Chiefs are positioned to win tonight because their overall efficiency profile is stronger, pairing a top-tier offense with a top-five defense that consistently tightens in the red zone. Patrick Mahomes gives Kansas City a decisive late-game edge, especially against a Cowboys defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in DVOA, EPA/play, and explosive plays allowed. Even with Trey Smith out, the Chiefs’ offense is trending upward thanks to Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and a revived run game with Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, all of which stress Dallas’ weak coverage depth. Steve Spagnuolo’s defense matches up well with Dallas by forcing long, mistake-prone drives and limiting the deep shots that fuel Dak Prescott’s best games.
