Charleston is in a great spot at TD Arena, where they’ve built a real home-court edge this season and enter this matchup riding an extended home winning streak, which matters in a tight CAA race game.    The Cougars also come in playing their best ball, carrying a multi-game win streak and showing the kind of late-season cohesion you want in a coin-flip matchup, especially with their rotation settling into defined roles.    Style-wise, Charleston can win this by turning defense into quick offense: they’ve been disruptive enough to create extra possessions and speed teams up, and that tempo pressure is amplified at home when they go on mini-runs.    Even if UNCW brings its usual physicality, Charleston has the personnel to answer inside and still keep spacing on the other end, which is key against a team that wants to control the glass and grind you down.    The betting market reflecting Charleston as a small favorite is basically saying “these are the top two,” but it also implies Charleston’s matchup and venue advantages are worth points, not just reputation.    In a game projected to be played in the high-140s, the team that can manufacture 4–6 extra possessions via turnovers, loose balls, and transition opportunities usually wins, and Charleston’s recent form suggests they’re more likely to create those momentum swings.    Put it together: Charleston’s home streak + current surge + ability to pressure the game’s pace gives them the cleaner path to a late-game edge over a very good UNCW team.
