Personal Play: February 6th

Can’t believe the loss last night. Seriously. Cant!

PERSONAL PLAY:

College Basketball:

UConn @ St John’s 8:00pm EST

St. John’s is in a strong spot tonight because their pace, depth, and guard play directly attack UConn’s biggest vulnerabilities, especially away from Gampel Pavilion. The Red Storm thrive when they can speed games up, and their ball pressure forces turnovers that disrupt UConn’s half-court rhythm and limit easy post touches. Offensively, St. John’s has multiple shot creators who can score off the bounce, which is critical against a Huskies defense that prefers to wall up rather than chase quick guards. St. John’s Red Storm has also been far more aggressive on the offensive glass, creating extra possessions that neutralize UConn’s efficiency advantage. UConn’s reliance on structured sets becomes a liability if St. John’s forces early-clock decisions and turns this into a possession battle rather than a shooting contest. UConn Huskies has struggled at times when opponents can match their physicality while still stretching the floor, something St. John’s is built to do. If the Red Storm dictate tempo and maintain defensive intensity for 40 minutes, they have the matchup edge to wear UConn down and close this one out late.

1 Unit Play: St John’s +2.5
