Tough loss last night, lets bounce back tonight!

College Basketball:

Virginia @ Florida State 7:00pm EST

Florida State is in a strong position to cover at home against Virginia tonight because the Seminoles consistently play their best basketball in Tallahassee, where their defensive pressure and energy level rise significantly. Virginia’s slow, methodical pace often keeps games closer than the spread suggests, and that style benefits an underdog like Florida State by limiting possessions and reducing blowout risk. The Seminoles’ length and athleticism can disrupt Virginia’s half-court offense, forcing tougher shots late in the clock and increasing the likelihood of scoring droughts. Florida State has also shown an ability to hang around in games against stronger ACC opponents, even when shots aren’t falling, thanks to rebounding and physical defense. Meanwhile, Virginia has struggled at times to create separation on the road, especially against teams that can speed them up defensively without fully committing to transition basketball. With the home crowd behind them, Florida State should play with urgency and confidence, knowing this is a marquee opportunity against a respected conference opponent. If the Seminoles hit a reasonable number of perimeter shots and win the effort categories like rebounds and loose balls, they not only have a strong chance to cover but also a realistic path to pulling off the upset outright.
