Kennesaw State @ Middle Tennessee 7:30pm EST

Middle Tennessee is positioned to win and cover because their strength of schedule is dramatically stronger, and KenPom’s SOS net rating shows they’ve been tested against far better competition than Kennesaw State, which matters in a late-game environment. Offensively, MTSU plays with far better control, turning the ball over at a low rate and forcing Kennesaw State to score in the half court instead of off the chaos and pace they rely on. Defensively, the Blue Raiders’ ability to run shooters off the three-point line directly attacks Kennesaw State’s biggest scoring lever and limits their explosive runs. The matchup also favors MTSU inside, where Kennesaw State’s rebounding edge is muted by the absence and uncertainty of key rotation pieces, reducing second-chance scoring. Coaching and situationally, MTSU’s slower tempo and experience in close games gives them a clear late-game edge if this is within two possessions in the final four minutes. When you combine the home-court advantage, cleaner execution, and the massive SOS gap, Middle Tennessee consistently pulls away late and covers the -3.5 number.
