December 19th: Best Bets

BEST BETS: Tier 1

NFL:

Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers (8:15pm EST)

This is going to be a hard fought battle between these two teams and we expect a low scoring game. The Chargers are coming off their worst game of the year and this is a focus spot for them because this most certainly gets them into the playoffs with a win and helps them avoid the Bills in the first round. The Broncos are coming off 4 straight wins, but Bo Nix has not been very good even though the media hype for him has been really high. We think as a rookie he is going to have struggles. On the other hand, we look for Justin Herbert to have a better game than he has had in his last couple outings. This should be a low scoring one so look at the total going under, but we are going to have to fade the Broncos in this one and take the Chargers on the ML.

NBA:

Charlotte Hornets @ Washington Wizards (7:00pm EST)

These teams are both horrible coming into this game with the Hornets losing 10 of their last 11 games, and the Wizards only being 3-21 on the season. We expect the Hornets to come out hot in the one, in desperate need of a win. They are at full strength while the Wizards are without Kuzma and Bey. Lamelo is healthy again and should have a big game in this one. 

Bet: Hornets Spread -3.5

 

Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies (8:00pm EST)

This game is going to be a battle all the way until the end. A lot of the public sentiment is on the Warriors. This is spot where we want to fade the public because they have shifted this line from where it started at -3.5 down to -1.5. To be safe in this one we will be taking the Grizzlies ML though. It is still good value. The Grizzlies have the better squad here and they are very good at home. We look for them to close out the Warriors late.

LEANS: Tier 2

NBA:

Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons (7:00pm EST)

This is going to be a fun one early on the slate in the NBA. We like the Jazz to cover the spread here against the Pistons. The line is a little bigger than we think it should be. We will be riding with the Jazz to cover.

Bet: Jazz Spread +5

 

Atlanta Hawks @ San Antonio Spurs (8:00pm EST)

The Spurs and the Hawks are two teams struggling for position in the standings. We are banking on the Spurs being one of the better teams in the NBA even though their record says otherwise. The Hawks play in the eastern conference with is a lot less competitive than the West. With Wemby healthy for the Spurs, give us the Spurs ML.

College Basketball:

UC Irvine Anteaters @ Belmont Bruins (7:30pm EST)

A little college basketball action tonight between to lower division 1 teams. Both have good records but UC Irvine has played much tougher competition and we look for them to come out on top in this one! The are on the road and started at -3.5 favorites, MATRIX.
